Hopa Casino has closed
Hopa stopped taking bets on 24 August 2026. Cash balances were refunded; bonuses and spins were not. Here is how to chase a missing refund.

Hopa ceased operations on 24 August 2026. hopa.com now shows a closure notice, and Karamba Limited is the data controller for former accounts.
Hopa is gone. On 26 October 2026 we opened hopa.com on a phone from Montréal and got a single page: Hopa is now closed, and it officially ceased operations as of 24 August 2026.
No lobby, no login, no app.
How it ended
Hopa was run by White Hat Gaming Limited, with Karamba Limited as brand partner, under a Malta licence (MGA/B2C/370/2017) and a UK one (52894). It took Canadians through a dedicated page, hopa.com/en-ca, which in April 2026 still advertised 100% up to $750 plus 200 spins, with a casino, live tables and sports.
Four months later it closed. The notice does not give a reason, and we will not guess one. Its sister brand Karamba has a separate page on this site.
The money question
According to the notice, cash balances were refunded to the payment method each player had used, within seven days of the closure. Bonus funds, free spins and loyalty points were voided.
In practice, that splits former players into three groups:
- You had only real cash in the account. It should have reached your card or bank by early September 2026.
- You had bonus money or unused spins. Those are gone, and there is no process to claim them.
- You were halfway through a withdrawal or a document check. This is the group most likely to have a problem.
If a refund never arrived, check your bank or card statement for a credit from late August first. The descriptor may not say "Hopa". Then email [email protected] from the address on your account, with your username, the amount you expected and the payment method. Karamba Limited is now the data controller for player records, so that is also the route for a copy of your data or a deletion request.
Keep the replies. If the dispute drags on, Malta-licensed operators can be complained about to the MGA.
Watch out for "refund recovery" messages
Closures attract scammers. If you get an email, text or social media message offering to recover your Hopa balance for a fee, ignore it. The only contact address in the closure notice is the one above, and a genuine refund never requires you to pay first or to share a card number.
The same goes for sites using the Hopa name and logo after August 2026. Any lobby that still takes deposits under that brand is not the real one.
What it was like on a phone
Hopa never had a Canadian app. Players used the mobile site, which shared its layout with other White Hat brands. That chapter is closed, so we will not review a lobby that no longer exists.
If Hopa's home-screen shortcut is still on your phone, delete it. Saved passwords for hopa.com can go too, once your refund question is settled.
